Utility Notation
is a series of small spiral-bound books that grew out of an interest in the utility markings in and around my neighborhood. Spray painted lines & shapes on the sidewalk are the result of a city’s ongoing attempt to annotate subterranean infrastructure. Utility markings continue to remind me of my own incessant habit of taking notes as both practices involve the repetition of gestures to remember, revisit, and re-interpret.
